Leitrim CTC visit

Laura and the girls from the hairdressing course at Leitrim CTC visited the centre today

CTC Garden

My name is Patrick and I am a computer trainee at Sligo CTC. As part of my An Gaisce this week I started working on tidying up on our planter beds from last year. These are located at the back of the building. They are very over-grown and need to be cut back. I enjoy getting outside and working on the garden.

Recycling and Food Waste Talk

Simon Rooney from waste to zero came to the centre yesterday and gave a very informative talk and demonstration to trainees and staff on waste management, composting and recycling.  There is a a lot of confusion as to which bin to put recyclables and waste into. Simon  provided helpful hints on how to manage our recycling/food waste bins, reduce contamination and preserve the quality of recyclable material. Simon is also a recycling ambassadors for the #binsorted initiative.
